Double Eagle Elementary School Reviews

Crowding problem solved. Now that the school has been rezoned, there are smaller classes. As always, the teaching staff is caring and dedicated. I have a kid with special needs and have been pleased.

Very little offered in extracurricular activities, especially PE related. My children didn't seem to be very challenged by the course work, but still one of the best schools in Albuquerque, although schools in the east and other areas of the country are on a much higher plane.

What a disappointment. An overcrowded school and lots of chaos. I dont know how teachers are able to teach in a room full to capacity. Homework, if it gets assigned, is rarely graded and returned. I call this daycare for older kids....

We had a very good 3-4th grade experience at DEES. The PTA is very involved and help make up for the lack of funding provided by the district for local (well-performing) schools that don't qualify for grant monies. The PTA funds music and art programs to bring them up to a level considered minimal in other states. Teachers are very receptive to parent input and accessible to the children. A happy place to be as well!

Easily one of the top public elementary schools in the state (O'Keefe and Chavez round out the top 3). Professional families with lots of parental involvement. Teachers are generally very good. I have been extremely happy with my son's 5th grade teacher. Academic programs, art, physical education are all very good and have prepared my son for private school. The counselor really helped my son through difficult times - and he has flourished academically and socially. The school's Administration is professional, concerned and very involved in the student's experience and learning environment. Both the principal and vice-principal are excellent! They are a great team.
