“My oldest son began kindergarten this year and I was, to say the least, very nervous about starting at a public school. I had him enrolled in a private school, but withdrew him before the school year started. Chamiza has exceded my expectations!!!! His teachers Mrs. Blea and Mrs. Garcia are exceptional. I do have to add that the other kindergaten teachers at Chamiza also fit this category. I am pleased to witness their kindness, exceptional teaching ability , and balance of dicipline blended into every day the children attend school. “Chamiza is a great school with excellent teachers. My two kids have go there and have had great years there. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The parent involvement allows for nice extras like book fairs and a yearly jog-a-thon in addition to other things that are fun for the kids. “I am very happy that my child attends chamiza. The staff is super friendly and willing to go out of their way to meet the childs and parents needs! My child has exceled extremely and loves to go to school! I feel that my child is safe while at school and my mind is at ease while I'm at school. “My child has attended Chamiza Elementary for the last 3 years. It's a terrific school, and the teachers are always willing to go over and beyond to help their students. The teachers are wonderful about keeping a great parent teacher relationship, which is great because if their should be anything wrong, you will know about it immediately, plus when your child is doing great, you will know of it and it makes you feel really good. “Professional and dedicated staff and high parent involvement are all big at Chamiza. The population is somewhat economically diverse and pretty middle class. What is lacking is after-school programs, only a handful. The teachers have collaboration time in which they share with the staff the best of their professional development. The PTA is as good as its leadership, but parent participation in all other aspects of the school promotes a very good environment.
