Madison Middle School Reviews

i go her now but im going to a diffrent school next year. my parents dont like this school either. im in 6th grade and im in the gifted program & its torture. the whole school is totally inconsiderate. they also have unbelievalbly high expectations. i just barely passed this semester. it was so hard & all of the teachers were just really mean. not strict, mean. it seems like the teachers have no idea what theyre talking about! dont send your kids here people.

I have transferred my son into this school as his previous school was not adequately protecting him. The principal here is incredible-I truly feel he wants to provide the best program for my son they can in this school. The head of Special Education is also an incredible woman who puts in lots of overtime planning for her students. I feel truley blessed we were lead to this school.

My experience with this school and all of APS has been pure disappointment. I now homeschool my kids and their education, behaviors and attitudes have improved dramatically. Homeschooling is easier than you think! If you're upset about public schools, why put your most precious treasures into them? Look into your options. Charter schools are also a great alternative. Follow your gut instincts and don't throw your children away!

This school is very unorganized and didn't seem to know they're students very well they also don't let students tell they're side of the story and are often just punished weather it was them or not! I was very displeased with this school!

Madison is a wonderful school. The staff is great. The band program is particular is superb. Keep up the good work.

My experience with Madison was not very good. The 8th grade counselor is very uninvolved, uninformed and not sympethetic to the emotional needs of our young people. My daughter entered in January 2006, she was placed in a math class that she did not belong, therefore her grade point average kept her from attending activities. When I finally spoke to her counselor, he had no idea of her previous math grade and said he wasn't the person I should talk to I asked who, and he didn't even know the princples phone extension.

I have had three student attend this school. It has been the worst experience I have ever had with a school. I had one child in Special Ed, One in regular Ed and one in the gifted program. There has been harrassment, poor judgement by the teachers and the main principal does not follow up when there are issues. The assistant principals are not bad. The counselors are horrible. I takes weeks to get a response and the response is usually: 'there is nothing that we can do.'

Unfortunatly our experiences with Madison have not been so great. The counseling team, I found, to be unwilling to help in certain cases. The administration is extremely slow in contacting parents when a call is made. For the most part, there are teachers who do care for the children but when there is a 'problem' teacher nothing is done to resolve the situation. And lastly, there is no communication with the families of the district concerning important events. If the information is sent out it is usually after the fact.

Academically this school is the best, the students are not so bad, teachers are great and caring, a must for those brand new 6th grade students, keep it up Madison!
