Salam Academy Reviews

This school has enhanced my childs ability in reading, math skills, science, and, last but not least, islamic and arabic knowledge! I will never send my child anywhere else!

I m very happy with Salam Academy. The ITBS national scores show our students are one to two grades above average in all subjects for all grades. Salam is always asking for input from parents and the community for improvement and continues to improve each year. Our students are accepted to prominent private high schools and win several awards on state and regional levels in science fair competitions. In all private schools, the parents are asked to pay tuition, but it is below the average cost of local parochial schools and pre- schools. Several families who care for the future of children founded Salam Academy. It is an ethnically diverse school and each child is taught to respect each other and his or her own individuality. The teachers and administration at Salam Academy are quite experienced in education and show great care towards the students and families. A great educational environment!

My kids have attended the school since its inception and salam academy has come a long way. The children have a safe and healthy environment to grow and excel in,as well as learn to be respectful to their elders. The teachers treat the students on one to one basis and work on their individual needs. They also learn arabic which is an added advantage. Salam academy has proved to be a blessing in disguise for my family. The school administration has worked hard to achieve these results and parents like myself are extermely pleased with the results. All the best salam. Keep up the good work.

Salam Acaemy is the best school ever. Everything is avalible and teachers have national License and are very well trained. Salam Academy Rocks!

Salam Academy suffers from many common problems with Muslim schools around the US: it lacks the Muslim community funding, which means the majority of funding comes from the one family that started the school. This leads to strict control over the school by a family that lacks specific training in education or in education management. You can expect that the school will have a new principal who is not specialized in education almost every year, though behind the scenes it is run by the one family that started it. The turnover of teachers is very high due to lack of professionalism of the administration in the school. Parents and community ideas to improve the school are slammed, which leaves parents frustrated. The level of education in the school maybe comparable to other schools in Albuquerque, but is below average, and parents need to constantly work with their children at home.

I'm very happy thus far with the academic structure of the school. It's a Muslim funded school but the teaching style is Montessori so you don't get force feed religion. What you do get is a sound education and a very respectable child with solid leadership skills. I'm happy my child will know English, Spanish and Arabic; which can only open up doors for his future. A little more sport activities for girls would be most helpful.

Salam Academy is a great school, the good thing about it is the small class ratio and the great parents. academically the school is doing great. so many achievements in so many areas especially science fair on state level.
